Samsung Electronics has unveiled a new phone with a foldable screen designed to sway the smartphone business with a black shiny rectangle that looks more and more similar.
At a conference for software developers in San Francisco on Wednesday LaMarcus Aldridge Jersey , the company previewed the so-called Infinity Flex Display and announced new software for controlling large mobile phones. Developers will be able to create apps for gadgets that, like other Samsung phones, will be based on the Android operating system.
The Korean tech giant did not say when the device will start selling, what its price is, or what the name of the phone is. During the demonstration DeMar DeRozan Jersey , Samsung also covered everything outside the screen with an extra casing, pretending to be the rest of the phone's design - similar to the way the camouflage prototype was used in street testing.
However, the basics are clear. When turned off, the device looks like a standard smartphone. It opens like a book, showing another 7.3-inch display David Robinson Jersey , which will be one of the largest mobile phone screens ever released. It will be big enough to run three applications side by side, while Samsung's recent big smartphone Note 9 has two.
The company said the display can be folded hundreds of thousands of times. Samsung said it is also exploring screens that can be scrolled and stretched, but does not use these technology to preview devices.
Samsung plans to release a simulator to help developers write and test foldable screen applications, and will host a meeting with developers to teach them how to write software for devices. The company is working with Google and its Android division to develop low-level software to power foldable devices. Google's Android design director Glen Murphy spoke at the conference.
In October, Bloomberg News reported that the folding phone will be available for sale in the second quarter of 2019. Samsung confirmed on Wednesday that the mass production of the screen will begin in the next few months.
Samsung is not the first company to try a collapsible phone Tim Duncan Jersey , but the company's display technology, coverage and marketing capabilities may become mainstream. Last year, ZTE announced the launch of a foldable mobile phone that failed with the reviewers. Earlier this week, consumer electronics startup Royole announced similar devices in China.
Samsung also showed a new software interface called One UI that includes simplified controls, new icons and more rounded corners. The new look is optimized for use with thumb control devices San Antonio Spurs Jersey , which is required as the screen gets larger.
Samsung said the interface will be launched this month in the US, Germany and South Korea as an early test version. The software will be officially launched on January at Galaxy S9 and Note 9.

That is Harrison Barnes Jersey , knowing your exit strategy during the planning stage can strongly influence any number of decisions you need to make. The top five exit strategies, which cover more than 80% of entrepreneurs, are:
Strategy #1 -- Selling to Outside Investors
Some entrepreneurs plan to establish a niche business that can ultimately be sold to a larger company. Serial entrepreneurs tend to just enjoy the startup phase and intend to sell their businesses off to new owners once the venture is afloat. Either way, it is critical to set up and operate the business with the goal of selling in mind. You must understand how valuation (how much a business is worth) works and plan your asset and financial management accordingly. You should be sure all business protections are in order (trademarks, etc.) and do the work to build brand goodwill within your market and industry. About two-thirds of all new startups consider selling to outside investors a likely exit strategy.
Strategy #2 -- Going Public
Many startups Buddy Hield Jersey , especially those in high-tech industries, hope to sell out and grow rich through an IPO (initial public offering). If going public is in your plans, you must hire a competent, experienced attorney to develop your incorporation papers and protect your interests. While you need to understand everything that goes into your entity registration and agreement, you should not do this yourself. IPOs can be very complicated and are one of very few things that entrepreneurs absolutely must retain a lawyer to handle. Again De'Aaron Fox Jersey , your assets and books will have to be in very good order, and your timing for going public will have to be precise. About a quarter of all startups begin with the intention of going public, but the actual number that ever float an IPO is much smaller. With the current state of the economy, it is likely to be more difficult than ever to get rich through an IPO.
Strategy #3 -- Sell to Partners
Some startup partnerships are established with the intention of one partner buying out the others once the business is up and running. In any partnership situation, it is critical for all members to hammer out the what-if details and include them in writing in the Operating Agreement. For example Trevor Ariza Jersey , discuss what will happen if one partner wants to sell his ownership -- will the other partner(s) have the first right to purchase? How much notice must a partner give? If they sell to an outsider, do the remaining partners have the right to approve the sale? How will the share of ownership be valued? If your exit strategy is to sell your share to your partners, it is critical that you make a plan for doing so before the business is launched.
